Where weight and dimensions live

Weight and box dimensions belong to the product, not to any one listing — the same package ships however many channels you sell it on. You’ll find these fields on the product’s Inventory tab (alongside stock and cost).

  • Weight is entered as pounds and ounces, whichever is easier for what’s in front of you — a fraction of an ounce is fine, since a postal scale reads tenths.
  • Dimensions are length, width, and height in inches.

Required, and all-or-nothing

A weight is required before a listing can publish — it’s the single most common reason a listing can’t go out, because a marketplace reads a missing or zero weight as “this weighs nothing” and won’t calculate postage for it.

Dimensions are all three or none. If you enter one, enter all three; CellerHub doesn’t send a partial box size.

CellerHub won’t overwrite a weight you’ve already measured

If a listing template includes a package profile (a weight and dimensions associated with a recipe), applying that recipe will not overwrite a weight you’ve already typed in for a product — a measured weight is yours, and silently replacing it would change what a live listing charges a buyer for postage. Overwriting it is something you do on purpose, not something that happens as a side effect of applying a recipe.
