Marking shipped and tracking
An order is marked shipped one of two ways: automatically, when you buy or fetch a label through CellerHub, or by hand, from the order’s own page.
By hand
Section titled “By hand”Open the order. If it doesn’t have a tracking number yet, you’ll see fields for Tracking number and Carrier, and a Mark shipped button.
- For eBay and most other channels, entering a tracking number and pressing Mark shipped sends that tracking to the channel, which notifies the buyer.
- For Mercari, there’s nothing to send — Mercari doesn’t accept a tracking number from CellerHub. A tracking number you type here is kept only for your own records; pressing Mark shipped instead tells Mercari the order has shipped, with no tracking attached. The order then shows as shipped once Mercari confirms it.
If a channel is browser-driven and doesn’t confirm immediately, CellerHub shows the order as Queued — it will flip to shipped once the channel confirms the action went through.
By label
Section titled “By label”If you buy a label through Shippo, EasyPost, or eBay, or Mercari has already issued one, the order is marked shipped as part of that — with its tracking number and carrier filled in for you, once the carrier or the marketplace confirms it.
What you’ll see afterward
Section titled “What you’ll see afterward”A shipped order shows its tracking number, carrier, and (when the channel reports one) the date it shipped. For a Mercari order shipped on Mercari’s own label, the order shows “Mercari label” in place of a tracking number, since Mercari doesn’t report one back through its API.
