Reconnecting a channel
A connected channel can stop working without anything being wrong with your CellerHub account:
- eBay’s sign-in for a channel can eventually need to be renewed. CellerHub can’t renew it automatically — you have to sign in again.
- A Mercari session can expire the same way a browser tab logged into any website eventually does. When CellerHub tries to use it and Mercari refuses, the session is treated as expired and you’re asked to sign in again.
What reconnecting does — and doesn’t do
Section titled “What reconnecting does — and doesn’t do”Reconnecting a channel reuses the same channel account. Your listings, your order history, and your settings for that channel stay exactly where they are. Reconnecting is not the same as removing the channel and adding it again — you never need to do that just because a sign-in expired.
How to reconnect
Section titled “How to reconnect”- Go to Channels.
- Find the channel account that needs attention.
- Use its reconnect / sign-in action. For eBay, this opens eBay’s own consent screen again. For Mercari, this reopens the same sign-in you used the first time you connected it, including the verification code step if Mercari asks for one.
- Once it succeeds, the channel goes back to syncing on its normal schedule.
If it’s just a blip
Section titled “If it’s just a blip”Not every failure means you need to reconnect. A brief outage on eBay’s or Mercari’s side, or Mercari’s network temporarily challenging CellerHub’s connection, usually clears on its own before the next sync — see Mercari temporarily blocked for what that looks like. Reconnecting is the fix specifically when the channel is shown as needing it.
