Which conditions you can pick from depends on the category, and CellerHub asks eBay what that category actually accepts rather than showing a fixed list.

What you’ll see

• Once eBay’s channel is connected and a category is picked, the condition list narrows to exactly what that category accepts.
• Before eBay is connected, you still get eBay’s standard conditions to choose from, with a note that connecting the channel will narrow the list to what your category actually accepts.
• Before a category is picked, the field explains that which conditions are allowed depends on the category, and asks you to pick one first.
• If eBay reports no conditions for a category, the field says so plainly rather than showing an empty, unexplained box.

Categories that take no condition

Some eBay categories don’t ask for a condition at all. When that’s the case, CellerHub says so — “Not asked for in this category” — and doesn’t make you pick one for eBay.

If you’re also listing the same product on Mercari, that’s a separate question: Mercari always has its own condition (it maps whatever word you give it onto its own five conditions), so if eBay doesn’t need a condition but Mercari does, CellerHub tells you as much and still offers eBay’s standard condition words so you have something for Mercari to work with.

A value that no longer matches the list

If a product already has a condition saved that isn’t one of the category’s own accepted values — because the category changed, say — CellerHub keeps showing it rather than silently dropping it, with a note that publishing maps common wordings (for example, “Brand New” becomes “New”) but picking straight from the list is what guarantees the match.
